We have heard this word many a times. Sci-fi movies are always quoting AI as if it’s a household word. Artificial Intelligence has interested scientists and enthusiasts for a long time now. Ever since mankind developed the computer, the ides of AI has taken root.

It would not be farfetched to assume that in a few decades artificial intelligence will be a large part of our lives. It already plays a significant role even today- just look at Siri or Cortana for example. These words are very familiar because we can ask them various questions and they probably answer them accurately.

When ‘Life in a Day’- a crowdsourced documentary film by Ridely Scott, Kevin Macdonald and Youtube, premiered in the Sundance Film Festival 2011, it created a stir among enthusiasts. With the aim of documenting one day, July 24, as lived by people around the world, the film was a great concept that captured peoples’ imagination. The film is 94 minutes 53 seconds long and includes scenes selected from 4,500 hours of footage in 80,000 submissions from 192 nations.

Thousands of years ago, man discovered fire. Then came farming, the wheel, etc. All these discoveries were monumental, since they led to the discovery of the fact that man possesses intelligence. A combination of intelligence and conditioning have made us what we are today.
